30 J U L Y / A U G U S T 2 0 1 9 SAMANTHA ALLEN Women's Basketball Head Coach, University of Southern Maine In her fourth year as head coach, life skills lecturer and SAAC advisor, Allen has distinguished herself early in her career with professionalism, leadership and commitment to the student-athlete. She is dedicated to community-based learning practices in the classroom and with student- athletes, most recently earning national honors from NADIIIAA for her partnership with Special Olympics. Allen is engaged to marry Matthew Norris next summer. SCOTT BATTAS Athletic Director, Mascoutah High School Battas spent seven years as the head football coach at Mascoutah High School (his alma mater) before solely focusing on the athletic director role. He has led the athletic department for five years and is instrumental in leading major projects. He is the District 7 rep for the IADA and is on the IHSA advisory committee. Battas and his wife, Kara, have three kids: Brynn (8), Beau (5), and Baer (born Feb. 27, 2019). JAMEL SEKOE WHITE Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach, Mississippi School for the Deaf White is a former member of the USA Deaf Olympics Basketball team. He uses basketball as an inspirational tool to help young deaf children overcome barriers and develop a drive to be successful in life. His team has won the Mason Dixon Deaf Basketball Championships (twice) and was the NDIAA Division II Team of the Year (2017). White was recently honored by Kobe Bryant and the Rachael Ray show in March 2019. SHEENA SMITH DILWORTH Athletic Director, John Ehret High School Dilworth has been at John Ehret High School since August 2007. She spent the first six years of her career as a social studies teacher and head softball coach at John Ehret. Dilworth currently teaches law studies and leadership, and coaches softball while balancing the athletic director role. Dilworth is in charge of more than 400 student-athletes and has run an athletic department that has produced over 50 Division I NCAA student-athletes. STEPHANIE DALY Basketball and Volleyball Assistant Coach, Aberdeen Central High School Daly is in her 13th year at Aberdeen Central High School, where she teaches physical education, health and sports medicine. Her basketball and volleyball teams have each won two state and multiple conference titles. Daly serves on the SDHSCA Board and the SHAPE-SD board. She has been named Region 1 assistant basketball coach of the year and H.S. PE TOY. She received her degree from Black Hills State University. TERRENCE COOK Boys Basketball Head Coach, Mastery Charter - Pickett Campus Cook has coached at Mastery Pickett for eight years and won 130 games in his time as head coach. He also coaches K-Low Elite Boys Basketball during the summer and spends many hours after practice working with current and former players. Cook continues to grow by attending Nike Coaching Clinics every year. TIM CHANDLER Athletic Director, St. Laurence High School Chandler is in his seventh year as athletic director at St. Laurence, a member of the prestigious Chicago Catholic League and Girls Catholic Athletic Conference. He has overseen a resurgence in the boys athletic programs and also launched girls athletics when the school went co-ed in 2017-18. Chandler is a CMA A through the NIA A A and the vice president of the Catholic League. He is the loving husband of Gina, and proud father of Leah and Brandon. TRAVIS WILSON General Manager, Wisconsin Sports Network Wilson manages Wisconsin Sports Network and WisSports.net, the largest independent state-based high school sports website in the country. He has worked with the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association for several years and currently serves on the WFCA board of directors as the director of communications and website. He is also on the executive board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. TYLER HERMAN Activities Director, York High School Herman just completed his second year as assistant principal and activities director at Gothenburg High School and assumed the same role at York High School on July 1. Previously, Herman had been a PE teacher and head wrestling coach at Amherst High School for 12 years. He was inducted into the Nebraska Scholastic Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2017.
