26 J U L Y / A U G U S T 2 0 1 9 CURT COPELAND Athletic Director, South Christian High School In addition to serving on multiple committees within the OK Conference, MHSAA and the MIAAA, Copeland also serves as an assistant football coach for the South Christian Sailors. He attended Hope College as an undergrad and obtained a master's degree from Western Michigan University. He resides in Byron Center, Michigan, with his wife, Kelly, and children: Kenlee (9), Gracyn (6), Decker (3) and Parker (1). DAN CAMPAGNA Assistant Athletic Director, Emmanuel College Along with his assistant AD duties, Campagna serves as the director of athletic communications, sports information & compliance; is a women's soccer coach; teaches a sports journalism course; and manages the gameday operations staff for the college's 16 varsity sports. Campagna is an Emmanuel alum, received his MBA from UMass Boston, and is an avid Boston sports fan. DANIEL W. USZAKI President, South Jersey Coaches Association Uszaki has degrees from Ursinus College (BA), Georgian Court University (MA - Educational Administration), TC Columbia University (MA - Blindness/Visual Impairment Studies), and Creighton University (Ed.D - Educational Leadership). He has leadership roles in the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Association, Burlington County Principals and Supervisors Association, and New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association. Uszaki enjoys extreme Christmas lighting, which provides donations to PTSD and military-based organizations. DARREN GILL Senior Vice-President of Marketing and Innovation, FieldTurf Over the past 18 years, Gill has been a driving force behind the evolution of artificial turf. He has helped change the game for the sports industry by leading numerous product innovations, sport-specific applications and safety research. FieldTurf has more than 20,000 installations worldwide and is the premier choice of NFL teams, colleges and high schools. DAVID MARLOW Director of Student-Activities, Mount Mansfield Union High School Over the past eight years, Marlow has overseen 42 athletic teams and more than 30 clubs/activities. He holds a Certified Master Athletic Administrator title through the NIAAA and has started an active mental health awareness group at Mount Mansfield Union, collaborating with the local college. Marlow is the proud father of two sons and forever grateful to his loving and supportive wife. DEREK LEONARD Head Football Coach, Rochester High School Leonard has a 145-30 record over his 14 years as head football coach. His team has won seven Class 4A state championships in the past nine years. Over the past 10 years, he has a 43-3 playoff record and averages 46.1 points per game and 503 yards per game. Leonard has also run the Rochester FCA for 14 years. He has a wonderful wife, Lindsey, and two great kids, Blake and Austin. EMILY JOHNSON Boys Varsity Soccer Head Coach, Akron North High School Johnson is entering her fourth year as a head coach and in 2017 was named APS Coach of the Year. Her team is comprised of resettled refugees who are English Language Learners and are struggling to fit into a new culture. Johnson uses their shared love of soccer to instill a sense of belonging and family in her team in order to give them stability, acceptance, and to encourage them to complete their education. JP HARTIGAN Founder, Shadowman Sports While a design student and competitive rugby player in his hometown of Limerick, Ireland, Hartigan identified an unmet need in the practice equipment market. In 2013, he launched Shadowman Sports and introduced Shadowman Pro, a safe game realistic tackling system. Shadowman Sports now has a range of tackling and blocking equipment, trusted by thousands of high schools, 100-plus NCAA programs, NFL teams, and is endorsed by USA Football and Football Canada as their preferred tackling partner.
