Just a year after earning his bachelor's degree, Adam Cornwell
enrolled in Ball State University's online master's in athletic coaching
education. When hired as head pitching coach at Iona College in New
York, he achieved his goal of coaching college baseball.
On getting hired: "My head coach was very impressed that I was
taking courses to better myself as a coach already. The program was a
huge help for me."
On his goals: "I am trying to make my players better pitchers and
better people. I want them involved in the school and the community."
On online tools: "Discussion boards have helped me learn how other
coaches handle issues with athletes."
On his internship: "I'm doing my internship at Iona—learning about
recruiting and the business side of athletics."
